On January 19, 2023, Elina Bry and Hélène Cayet presented Fusion Food, a video installation and a performance at La Générale, Paris.

Fusion Food is the first co-creation of the two artists following a 10-day residency. It is an opportunity to share their common obsession with food and in this case more specifically, Pasta for Hélène Cayet and Strawberry for Elina Bry.

They seize with humor and poetry these 2 organic materials that one does not necessarily dream of seeing assembled on one’s plate, to the point of making them food for thought, an earthly food. The video installation and the performance retained here in the manner of an amuse-bouche, a look back at hours of intense exchanges and ping pong of ideas, the blending of their practices, as an opportunity for them to invent a new language beyond the differences.

Fusion Food est la première co-création des deux artistes qui fait suite à une résidence de 10 jours. Elle est l’occasion de mettre en commun leur obsession commune de la nourriture et dans ce cas plus précisément, de la Pasta pour Hélène Cayet et la Fraise pour Elina Bry. 

Elles s’emparent avec humour et poésie de ces 2 matières organiques qu’on ne rêve pas forcément de voir assemblées dans son assiette, jusqu’à en faire une matière à penser, une nourriture terrestre. L’installation vidéo et la performance agissent ici à la manière d’un amuse-bouche, un retour sur des heures d’échanges intenses et de ping pong d’idées, du métissage de leurs pratiques, comme l’occasion pour elles d’inventer un nouveau langage au-delà des différences.
